Caring & Compassion for Those in Need
I have been volunteering at Seattle Human since March of this year. I volunteer 4-6 hours every Wed afternoon and work on animals that need special care services. Jessica Reed, DVM is the medical director. She give me a list of dogs and cats that are in need of acupuncture, chiropractic, and or cold laser therapy. I work with one of their assigned veterinary technicians and we go through the list to supply care to as many of the animals listed as I can.
Our goal is to help the animals with pain and comfort so we can give them a better quality of life and assist in finding them a forever home. I have worked on several animals that have been at the shelter for long term. Many have since been adopted as they are now happier and healthier. I have been working with the marketing division doing Facebook live interviews to bring awareness to some of the animals that need to be adopted.
I love being able to help these animals by providing them care, that is not a traditional modality. Seattle Humane is a great shelter, they do so much for their animals, and I am fortunate to be able to assist with my special training and equipment. I also offer to any of the adopted animals discounted rates – Let me know if you have added a new cute and furry addition to your family.
